- You are correct, as far as I know, that ZyXEL never specifically said that
- they would support 33.6Kbps. However, they strongly implied that the 2864
- series would be a top-of-the line analog modem which, to me at least, would
- have to include support of improvements to the V.34 standard which were
- proposed long before the 2864 series was actually released. Only after the
- time by which people had to decide whether to upgrade to the 2864 series
- did ZyXELfinally say that they were really only interested in ISDN and
- considered the analog versions to just be steppingstones on the way. To
- anyone who chose to upgrade with the expectation of getting a
- top-of-the-line analog modem (which expectation was supported by all of the
- information that I was able to find before the upgrade deadline), this late
- announcement was intensely annoying.
